GOULDSBORO 鈥?Charles L. Bagley Sr., 74, beloved husband of Susan  Worcester  Bagley, died Sept. 21, 2012, surrounded by his family at his home, after a battle with cancer. He was born April 15, 1938, in East Sullivan, the son of Lawrence L. Bagley Sr. and June  Martin  Bagley.After graduation from Sumner Memorial High School, Charlie joined the U.S. Navy, serving as a boilerman on various ships in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. He returned home and went to work at Winter Harbor Garage as a mechanic and driving a school bus. He went to work for Tuckers Oil Co., Cherryfield, and Dead R stanley cup iver Co., Ellsworth, as a furnace technician before starting his own repair service. He was also a caretaker to numerous properties and continued to drive the school bus for 43 years. He was a lifetime member of Osceola Grange, Harrington, and Knights of Pythias, Gouldsboro. The job that gave him the most pride and satisfaction however was that of police officer. He started work as a constable in Gouldsboro, a volunteer position. In the early 1970s, he and Bob Newman decided there needed to be some patrols to keep an eye on property and cut down on crime.
