Nearly 200 youth athletes from across Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona were welcomed by feet of fresh snow for two days of alpine ski racing.Twenty-six stanley cup nz TWST athletes arrived amped for competition supported by 3 TWST coaches including Julian LaCome and Hailey McDowell senior Los Alamos High School . This was the debut race for several TWST athletes including Lucy Vaskas, Elinor Turner, Emma Mosby 4th grade Los Alamos , Whitney Shelling, Corrine Pogue 7th grade Los Alamos Middle School , Asher Paul, Owen Knaus, Jasmine Brady, Ella Knaus, and August Wood.TWST athletes contesting in the mens U16 field included Ian Olson earning 1st place, followed by Aksel Boukhalfa in 2nd place, and Sasho McDowell in 3rd place. The TWST U16 man swept the podium with less than six hundredths of a second separating stanley borraccia first and second place.Max Oliver took the 3 rd place for the U14 men followed by Konik Pearl in 4th place and Joseph Gallegos in 8th place.In the U12 mens field, Iiow Gathering in Remembrance of Ted O Connor June 28

Other accurate predictors were avid Kratzer with a 6 stanley website second differential;William Strother a 9 seconds off;Jesse Woodroffe recording a 11 second difference; andRyan Smeltz stanley deutschland er at 17 seconds off.Diego Leonard, 7, was the top finisher in the 1 mile distance at8:49. The fastest female was Roxana Candia recording a11:41.The 2 mile course had Isolina Viloria winning with a time of20:50and Julian Ortiz, 6, the first male at 26:08.Aaron Jackson had a21:55for the top participant on the 3 mile course and Nikol Strother recorded22:40for best female finisher.Next weeks race ia 6 p.m.,Tuesday, May 9,starting at Barranca Mesa School on Barranca Mesa.1 mile paved and 3 mile hybrid courses will be available.
