Its All Gone Pete Tong director Michael Dowse is setting up his next project, hockey comedy Goon, with Toronto-based super producer Don Carmody.The screenplay is by Superbad and Pineapple Express screenwriter Evan Goldberg and the increasingly visible Jay Baruchel. As the title and the writers track-records suggest, the story tickles the underbelly of semi-professional ice hockey. Carmody will produce with David Gross.As well, Carmody is prepping two sequels in his expanding franchise stable. First up is a 3D version of the fourth insta stanley cup llment of the Resident Evil brand. True to form, the film is a Germany-Canada coproduction between Constantin Film, Samuel Hadidas Davis Films and Impact Pictures. Carmody is producing with Constantins Robert Kulzer and franchise originators Jeremy Bolt and Paul W. S. Anderson. Anderson returns to direct. stanley cup Next will be Silent Hill II, a France-Canada coproduction reuniting Carmody and Davis Films with Silent stanley cup Hill screenwriter Roger Avary writing and directing. Production begins in the New Year. Then comes Hit Girl, a horror film to be directed by Quebecois Jeremie Saindon. Carmody will produce with Andre Rouleau of Montreals Caramel Films, his coproducer on thriller DIE and Polytechnique.Carmody told ScreenDaily that Resident Evil: Afterlife will use the same 3D rig employed by James Cameron in Avatar, the Pace Reality Camera System.
