In the 2011-12 school year, teachers took an average of eight sick days, last year the average was 12 days.The York Catholic District School Board reports an average of 11 sick days taken by teachers in the 2011-12 school year and 13 days last year. The board paid out $11.9 million to cover supply teachers, a difference of $600,000 from the 2011-12 school year.
