VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. 鈥?Virginia Beach businessman Bruce Thompson recently turned down Grammy award-winning singer and Virginia Beach native, Pharrell Williams  plans to hold an event at the historic Cavalier Hotel featuring comedian Dave Chappelle.Days after it surfaced, Pharrell has decided not to bring his Something in the Water music festival to Virginia Beach. Pharrell says the cancelation is due to his dissatisfaction with the city s handling of the fatal police shooting of his cousin, Donovon Lynch, in March.Thompson expressed his main concern  stanley cup is that the Cavalier is a family resort, and he feels as though Chappelle is not appropriate for the environment. I made it clear that the Cavalier is a family resort in the middle of a residential neighborhood. We feel Dave Chappelles material is not appropriate to be in that environment,  he said.He says the event sh stanley cup ould not be outside on the lawn and should be inside  where people can elect to go to the show rather than be subjected to th stanley cup e show.  Thompson says the event could possibly work out if the event were moved inside.Thompson wanted to work out logistics. BUFFALO, N.Y. 鈥?A powerful moment was caught on camera at an upstate New York protest.Officer Armonde  Moe  Badger with the Buffalo Police Department led protesters in the hymn,  We Shall Overcome  on Tuesday. In a video of Badgers performance, you can see protesters gathered around the officer and singing along.Badger is one of departments two  singing cops  who use their vocal prowess for community outreach throughout the city. The officers gesture comes at a time of volatility between law enforcement and demonstrators following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Floyd died in police custody on Memorial Day after a police officer pressed his knee against the 46-year-old s neck for several minutes, even as the man said,  I cant breathe.  Tha jordan t officer, Derek Chauvin, and three others involved have been fired.
