Catherine Pugh presented two Baltimore City high school seniors medals for receiving the Brower Yout stanley mug h Award Wednesday.Mercedes Thompson and Claire Wayner ar stanley cups e co-founders of Baltimore Beyond Plastic, a youth-led action-oriented organization that aims to reduce plastic pollution in the city. The girls received the award in October, they are two of six awardees in North America.Thompson and Wayner were inspired to create Baltimore Beyond Plastic after  stanley cup learning about the public health impacts that are a result of plastic pollution. As students, we wanted to stand up for our city and our state s environment and for our Chesapeake Bay.And make a difference by phasing out Styrofoam,  said Wayner.In 2016 the girls initiated a campaign to ban Styrofoam throughout the state, and are now pushing for bans on both Styrofoam and plastic bags in Baltimore. BEL AIR 鈥?A townhouse caught fire in Bel Air Saturday morning.Just after 10 a.m., Harford County Fire and EMS were  stanley nz called to a townhouse fire in the 400 block of A stanley vattenflaska melanchier Ct in Bel Air. Firefighters arrived and reported fire showing from all floors in the rear of a 2 story town house and additional units were called. Volunteer Firefighters from Fallston, and Kingsville  White Marsh from Baltimore County responded along with additional Volunteer Firefighters and EMS personnel from Abingdon, Bel Alr, and Joppa-Magnolia.No injuries were reported.The cause of the fire is under i stanley thermoskannen nvestigation.
