Any suggestion to the contrary is solely not credible." Kenneth Thompson, Diallo's lawyer, said all of Strauss-Kahn's energy, cash and affect would not stop the truth from popping out. Strauss-Kahn, who had earlier agreed to a forensic examination, pleaded not guilty. He was arraigned on June 6 and pleaded not guilty. On 30 June 2011, the district lawyer despatched a letter to Strauss-Kahn's defense group disclosing information in regards to the housekeeper. In addition, the prosecution discovered that, the day following the alleged assault, the housekeeper had made a telephone call in her native Fula language to her boyfriend in an immigration detention middle. On 14 May 2011, Strauss-Kahn was arrested and charged with the sexual assault and tried rape of 32-yr-previous Nafissatou Diallo, a housekeeper on the Sofitel New York Hotel within the Manhattan borough earlier that day. Diallo's lawsuit was settled, along with Strauss-Kahn's countersuit, for an undisclosed quantity on 10 December 2012. A separate swimsuit against the brand new York Post, who had reported she was a prostitute, was settled at the identical time. |
