French major Gaumont is currently negotiating to acquire French animation house Alphanim, the company said in a statement. Alphanim was founded by Christian Davin in 1997 and bo stanley cup asts more than 700 hours of programming. Its catalog notably includes series Galactik Football, Robot Boy and Delta State. In 2007, Alphanim expects to deliver 90 half-hours for revenues of $32m Euros 22m . The move marks a return to television, and espec stanley cup ially animation, for Gaumont which saw the departure of toon guru Marc du Pontavice in 1998. Du Pontavice had co-founded Gaumont Television in 1990 and created Gaumont Multimedia in 1995 which produced several international hit series. Indeed, in its statement Gaumont said that the acquisition is part of a desire to diversify by getting back i stanley cup nto TV production and distribution. US online video service Hulu plans to launch 20 original titles next year with the UK firmly in its sights as a primary stanley kubek source for content.Hulu has previously acquired a raft of British comedies and dramas including Misfits, Spy and The Only Way Is Essex and co-produces BBC heist comedy The Wrong Mans and is keen to add to its portfolio as the VoD service prepares to double its investment in content.Speaking at Israeli conference IN TV, Alex Kruglov, head of content acquisition at Hulu said that he wanted to acquire more shows like Moone Boy to offer exclusively.
