COUNTY News:For several years, the Los Alamos Department of Public Util stanley mugs ities DPU has hosted an annual water festival in April for Los Alamos fourth grade students that is planned and carried out by the Pajarito Environmental Education Center PEEC .Hundreds of students gather at the University of New Mexico Los Alamos and engage in hands-on water activi stanley mug ties. This year with the public health emergency issued by New Mexico Department of Health, PEEC has incorporated the festival in to the Take It Outside online series.Starting today, April 13, students of all ages are invited to visit the PEEC website each day this week to learn the importance of water and water conservation: https://peecnature.org/take-it-outside/.The goals of the DPU-hosted water festival is to provide awareness and education that will lead to water-wise lifestyles, an understanding of community and state surface and groundwater, and involvement in community conservation programs.
